How does it feel to be you right now?

Yes, the world is in turmoil.
Yes, it appears that even tougher times lay ahead.
There is no doubt about it — we are going through a huge collective and often leaderless transition. It’s a lot to deal with.

But, seriously, how are you doing?

How are you adjusting?
How are you building resilience?
Where are your thoughts?
How peaceful is your mind?

If you’re struggling to get through the days, feeling like only hardship lays ahead and the world is going to hell in a handbasket, then I have an invitation for you.

Try creative therapy.

Creative Therapy

Our creativity is our innate superpower. We all have it — even you.
It’s a characteristic of our species.

When I say creativity, this is what I mean:

Creativity is the ability to rise above traditional ideas, patterns or relationships in order to create something new and meaningful.

It’s a tool to help you consider other perspectives, experiment with new ideas and better deal with challenges and uncertainty.

Notice that it doesn’t say anything about what we traditionally think of as creative — being artistic skills. It’s because while fine arts can certainly be an expression of creativity, creativity itself is so much more than just the arts.

Look around your environment right now.

Unless you’re out in wild nature, everything around you was created by someone. From the device you’re reading this on to the place you’re sitting or walking on all the way to the natural landscaping design of whatever park or suburb you’re in.

Creativity is the source of everything.

Yes, some of us are blocked. Although it’s more “out of practice”, I’d say. But don’t let thinking you’re “not a creative person” get in the way of your vitality, joy and connection.

We are all creative. Every single one of us. Even if we have lost touch with our creative selves… it’s never too late to reconnect. And honestly, it’s not even that difficult.
